Carillon Selected to Receive NEOIAAA Horizon Award

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Athletic Director Nick Carillon has been selected to receive the Northeast Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NEOIAAA) Tim Flannery Horizon Award.

The award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated clear signs of professionalism and involvement at their school, local, and state levels in their first two to three years of service.

Award recipients for the Horizon Award are nominated by fellow athletic directors and selected by the NEOIAAA Awards Committee.

Nick (Carillon) is an extremely talented, reflective, and faith-filled professional with laser-like focus on always doing what is best for our student-athletes and their coaches," said NDCL Principal Joseph Waler. "The NEOIAAA Horizon Award recognizes and celebrates the blessing he is to us every day. The NDCL Lions are proud to call him one of our own."

Carillon joined the NDCL community in November of 2020 as Associate Athletic Director. He was named Athletic Director this past September. He is believed to be one of the youngest Athletic Directors in the state of Ohio at the age of 23.

He has made an impact in three short years. He significantly increased social media/website branding and traffic, hired numerous head coaches, and has been part of multiple facility improvements and projects.

Before his time on Auburn Road, Carillon spent time as the Athletic Operations Coordinator at Woodridge High School in Peninsula and also spent two years directing creative media for the University of Akron football team under head coach Tom Arth.

He will receive his award at the NEOIAAA Award Banquet held at the SPIRE Institute on April 24th.

Congratulations Nick!
