Senior midfielder/faceoff-get off Charlie Johnson was named News-Herald Player of the Week for his performances for the week of April 22
nd.
Johnson recorded his 500th career faceoff win versus Mentor on April 26th. Also in that game, he was a perfect 24/24 in faceoffs. He is now tied for third on the OHSAA's list of Faceoffs Won in a Game and currently holds the Highest Win Percentage in a game with his perfect night at Mentor.
In 12 games this season, Johnson has won 181 of his 232 faceoffs (78 percent), scored 17 goals, five assists, and has picked up 157 ground balls.
Varsity Boys Lacrosse will be back in action tonight at Lakewood at 6:00 PM.
The Lions will wrap up the 2024 regular season on May 9th at Holy Name.
