15 student-athletes from NDCL Football earn all-NCC honors

NDCL Football highlights 15 student-athletes that earned North Coast All-Conference awards for the 2025 season.

Brady Capel, Casey McInnerney, Caiden Kovacs, and Ryan Cvitkovic were
named to first team offense. Capel shined in his first year leading the NDCL offense as starting quarterback. He led the team in both passing (1,321) and rushing (559) yards this season for a total of 1,880 all-purpose yards on offense. The junior quarterback completed 58 percent of his passes and threw for 18 touchdowns and rushed for six. Casey McInnerney, the quick, athletic wide receiver, was Capel's prime target this season. McInnerney caught a team-high 33 passes this season for 388 yards and five touchdowns. He also rushed for 39 yards and two scores. McInnerney also served an important role as part of the Lions defense as one of the starting cornerbacks. Caiden Kovacs collected all-conference first team offense honors for the second straight season. Kovacs is a dominant force and leader of NDCL's offensive and defensive lines as an experienced three-year starter. Ryan Cvitkovic was also named to all-NCC first team offense again this season as the starting kicker/punter. Cvitkovic was 40-41 on his extra point attempts and connected on seven of 11 field goals across ten regular season games. His season long field goal was drilled from 40 yards out.

Seniors Brendan Hernan
and Vance Marut were named to first team defense for 2025. Hernan led the Lions in tackles (81), tackles for loss (14), and sacks (11) this season. His length, quickness, and strength made him a problem for the opposing team's offensive line to contain. Marut, a relentless, hard tackling safety followed Hernan in tackles this season with 77, had six tackles for loss, two sacks, and led the team in forced fumbles with two.

Rob
Bonchak and Nick Barros collected second team offense honors. Bonchak, a two-time state champion in track & field, used his exceptional speed to beat his defenders all season long. The senior wide receiver was second on the team in catches with 15 for 277 yards and two touchdowns. Nick Barros made a great impact on NDCL's offensive line in his first season as a starter. Barros made it a challenge for the opposing team's defensive line to make it past him as he used his height and strength to his advantage.

Juniors Blake
Dumermuth and Drake Berschig earned all-conference second team defense recognition. Dumermuth led the Lions this season in interceptions (3) and pass breakups (4). He was a vital piece to the Lions' strong defensive secondary in his first year as a starting defensive back. Drake Berschig logged 68 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, and two fumble recoveries starting at linebacker this season. Berschig's 68 tackles were the third highest on the team in 2025.

Dylan Hoenigman (running back/linebacker), Joey Penny (offensive/defensive line), Braeden Ryan (running back/linebacker), Carmen Cirino (
wide receiver/defensive back), and Robby Lipowski (wide receiver/linebacker) were all named honorable mention all-NCC for their impactful play on both ends of the field this season.

NDCL Football finished in third place in the North Coast Conference
standings at 3-2.
