On Thursday, September 18th, legendary NDCL head coach Pamela Malone was inducted into the Chagrin Falls Athletic Hall of Fame.
Malone's 30-year career as head coach of the Chagrin Falls Tigers Girls Soccer team was nothing short of spectacular.
Her impressive coaching resume at Chagrin includes two state championships (1996 and 2021), state runner-up in 2016, six-time state semifinalist, seven regional championships, 15 district championships, and 25 sectional championships.
Malone's excellence has been recognized through numerous awards and accolades over the years at the conference, state, and national levels. She is a four-time All-Ohio Coach of the Year, two-time recipient of the State of Ohio Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity Award. Nationally, she was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Regional Coach of the Year in 1996 and 2021 and the United Soccer Coaches National Coach of the Year in 2021. Malone is a 14-time Chagrin Valley Conference Coach of the Year and six-time Greater Cleveland Coach of the Year. She has also developed and coached four All-Americans, ten Regional Americans, 25 All-Ohioans, and three Academic All-Americans. In Malone's 30-year tenure as head coach, 20 of those teams earned the OSSCA Team Academic Award. Malone continues to share her wisdom and expertise as a speaker for the national Positive Coaching Alliance since 2016.
Coach Malone is one of three female coaches with over 400 career wins in state history. She is currently second on that list with 412 wins and a career record of 412-151-63.
Malone brought her winning ways to NDCL her first season as head coach in 2024, leading the Lions to their first conference championship since 2016. Additionally, she serves as the head coach of the Girls Lacrosse program.
The NDCL Girls Varsity Soccer team is continuing to excel this season under Malone's leadership, with a record of 6-3-1 with seven games remaining in the regular season.
