GIRLS BASKETBALL
vs Shaw (12/30)- Girls Varsity Basketball dominates Shaw 87-19 on Notre Dame North Stars Throwback Night at NDCL. The Lions set new season highs in points scored in a single game (87), points scored in a quarter (33), and single-game three-pointers made (10). Coco Cochran scored a game-high 21 points, her third game this season scoring 20-plus points. Fallon Campolieti and Emma Surbey both set new career highs in scoring 12 and 11 points. Surbey knocked down a team and career-high of three three-pointers. All 12 players on the varsity roster scored in the game for the first time this season. Girls JV Basketball defeated VASJ at home 39-22. The Lions improved to 5-5 on the season and 3-3 in non-conference play.
vs CVCA (1/3)- Girls Varsity Basketball fell to CVCA 37-35 in a low scoring defensive battle. Coco Cochran scored a team-high 13 points, her eighth game this season scoring in double figures. Maddy Varga chipped in with six points and Maya Rowan contributed five points. The Lions moved to 1-3 in conference play and 5-6 overall with 11 regular season games remaining. Girls JV Basketball lost to CVCA 24-19. Girls Basketball will be back in action on Wednesday, January 7th hosting John Hay in McGarry Gym.
BOYS BASKETBALL
vs CVCA (1/2)- Boys Varsity Basketball fell 78-68 to CVCA in a home NCC matchup. Junior Wesley Jacobson led the Lions with a team-high 20 points. Jacobson has scored in double-digits in eight of the Lions' nine games so far this season. Seniors Brendan Hernan and Luke Keep both scored in double figures with 16 and ten points. Boys Varsity Basketball moved to 2-2 in conference play and 3-6 overall with 13 games left in the regular season. Boys JV and Freshman Basketball lost to CVCA 54-43 and 47-43. The Lions will be back in action on Tuesday, January 6th as they travel to Youngstown Ursuline.
GIRLS GYMNASTICS
at Twinsburg (12/30)- Girls Gymnastics finished in fourth place of nine teams competing in the Twinsburg Meet on Tuesday. Seniors Ava Lewandowski and Anna Barabas led the Lions placing sixth and eighth in the all-around. Lewandowski took fourth in the balance beam and fifth on vault. Barabas finished second on bars and 11th on the balance beam. Lena Bielata and Lily Chongris also competed for the Lions in the meet and finished 25th and 26th in the all-around. Girls Gymnastics will be back in action on January 14th versus Nordonia.
