NDCL Athletics Top Performers: Week of April 20th

Macey Beers, Senior – Girls Lacrosse: Beers led the Lions this week with a total of six goals across two games. In NDCL's big 11-10 conference win over Padua, Beers scored a game-high four goals, her ninth game this season with three or more goals. 

Cullen Purcell, Junior – Boys Lacrosse: Purcell scored a career and game-high four goals 
in NDCL's loss to St. Vincent-St. Mary on Tuesday. The senior led the team with six goals scored in two games this week. 

Jack Montague, Senior – Baseball: In Varsity Baseball's impressive 6-4 win over CVCA on Monday, Montague e
arned the win on the mound with four strikeouts in six innings pitched, allowing just two earned runs. Additionally, Montague was the top performer on offense in the Lions' 8-2 win over VASJ on Friday. The senior recorded a game high three hits on five at-bats with a run and an RBI.  

Aiden McCord, Senior – Baseball: McCord 
got the win on the mound for the Lions in their 8-2 win over VASJ. The senior struck out seven batters and gave up just four opponent hits and two earned runs. Offensively this week, McCord went 4-10 in his at-bats with three runs and two RBI.  

Maya Rowan, Senior – Softball: In four games this week, Rowan led the Lions offensively
 with a total of four hits on seven at-bats, hit a home run, a double, two runs, and four RBI. 

Alex 
Mould, Senior – Softball: Mould went 2-2 as the starting pitcher for the Lions this week. The senior struck out a total of 38 batters and allowed only 14 earned runs in four games this week. Mould didn't give up a single earned run in the team's 6-0 win over Padua and 2-0 victory against Mayfield. Offensively, she contributed two hits and three runs this week.  

Rob 
Bonchak/Casey McInnerney/Andrew Sepelak – Boys Track & Field: All three athletes posted a first-place finish in NDCL's second home meet of the season. Bonchak in the 200M dash (22.56), McInnerney in the 300M hurdles (42.02), and Andrew Sepelak in high jump (5-8).  

Grace Wayne/Estelle Doty/Gabriella Bruss – Girls Track & Field: 
All three athletes had the highest finishes for the NDCL Girls Track & Field team at Thursday's home meet. Wayne, Doty, and Bruss all took second place in their respective events: Wayne (400M dash, 1:03.39), Doty (100M hurdles, 17.64), Bruss (high jump, 4-2).
