Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin JV boys golf used a balanced scoring effort Tuesday to earn a 179-180 home victory over Kenston.

In a match decided by the narrowest of margins, every counting score proved important for the Lions.

Nic Davis led NDCL with a team-low 43. Frankie Fleck followed just one stroke behind with a 44, while Dom Constanzo carded a 45.

Alex Downing completed the Lions' four counting scores with a 47, giving NDCL its team total of 179.

The consistency throughout the lineup made the difference. Only four strokes separated NDCL's four counting rounds, allowing the Lions to finish one shot ahead of Kenston.

With Kenston posting a 180, Downing's fourth counting score ultimately completed the total NDCL needed to secure the victory.

The Lions have a quick turnaround following the one-stroke win and return to the course Wednesday, Aug. 26, for a home match against Benedictine.
