    Head Coach - Football
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin announced Friday morning that Anthony Baldesare will become the next head football coach.

Baldesare brings a wealth of collegiate coaching experience, serving on coaching staffs of nationally ranked programs that combined to go 61-14 the last seven years.

He most recently served as the Special Teams Coordinator/Tight End Coach at Lenoir-Rhyne University (NC) since January 2020 after serving on the staff at Notre Dame College from 2015-2019.

Coach Baldesare will bring Cathedral Latin lineage to Munson Township; his late father, Carl, was a Cathedral Latin graduate in the Class of 1961. He was a member of the track and football teams.

"I want to start by saying that I am incredibly grateful for Principal Joseph Waler, Athletic Director Nick Carillon, and the entire hiring committee for entrusting me with the privilege of leading the Lions football program", Baldesare said.

Baldesare added, "There is a ton of positive momentum right now with lots of new, energetic hires in the athletic department, and sustained success from the well-established programs such as Volleyball and their recent State title. This is the type of school any parent would be excited for their child to attend. A place where they can be stimulated both academically and athletically."

He joined the Notre Dame College coaching staff in the summer of 2015. In 2016, he was promoted to Tight Ends Coach and Director of Football Operations. Prior to the 2018 season, Baldesare became the team's Special Teams Coordinator.

Baldesare came to Notre Dame College after two years with Hiram College, where he served a number of different roles. He was the Director of Football Operations with the Terriers from January 2013, until he left in May of 2015. In addition to his duties as the Director of Football Operations, he was also the Linebackers Coach.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Coach Baldesare back to Northeast Ohio to lead the men of our football program," said Athletic Director Nick Carillon. "Coach Baldesare is a man who is passionate about the student-athlete experience, and we look forward to him joining the NDCL family".

He earned a bachelor of science in Mathematics from Ohio University in 2005. He will join the NDCL Faculty as an Academic Coach in Mathematics.

Baldesare and his wife will be relocating back home to Northeast Ohio. Anthony is a 2000 graduate of St. Edward High School, where he competed in football and rugby.
