Ralph White

Coach White currently serves as our Head Cross Country Coach and our Head Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field Coach. He has served on campus since 2020 in all three capacities.  

The Lions have seen great success under his leadership in boys cross country with back-to-back Crown Conference Championships. The team also qualified for the state meet in 2020 and regionals all three years. 

The Indoor Track and Field program has grown leaps and bounds over the last three years under White's leadership. The Lions qualified numerous runners for the 2022 Adidas Indoor Track Nationals meet including winning a national championship in the Sprint Medley Relay. They also won an OATCCC state championship in the 4x400 relay last year. The Lions currently hold top rankings in numerous events to start the 2023 indoor season.  

A 1974 graduate of Penn State University, White has over 50 years of coaching experience including high school, collegiate and international coaching during that time. White has coached 31 individual National Champions and 15 Olympians (including three gold medalists). He had collegiate stops at Southern Methodist University, Clemson University, Williams College. White earned NCAA Coach of the Year, over 50 coaching honors, and two National Championships. He also coached eight teams that had a top-four NCAA National finish. During his high school coaching career at Eleanor Roosevelt (MD), they were the number one team in the country and earned three consecutive state championships. 

He currently resides with his wife in Chesterland.
