Rick Sirl Named NDCL Head Girls Soccer Coach

The Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School Athletic Department announced the hiring of Rick Sirl as the new head girls soccer coach on Tuesday morning. 

Sirl has spent the last three years as the head coach at Eastlake North. The Rangers finished this past season with an 8-8-3 record and their first postseason victory in a decade. He finished with two wins in his first season, compiling 16 wins the last two seasons. 

He also has experience coaching club soccer for Mentor Wave and the Ranger Soccer Club. 

"I am very excited about the opportunity being entrusted to me to continue and further my coaching career at NDCL," Sirl said. "It is an honor, I do not take lightly, to further the legacy of this team and academic institution. I can not wait to hit the ground running and build the strongest program possible."

Sirl, was also awarded the Positive Coaching Alliance's coveted Double-Goal Coach Award for his positive impact on youth athletes in 2017 for his work with the Ranger Soccer Club. He obtained his National E Coaching License from USA Soccer in 2017. 

"We are thrilled to welcome Rick Sirl to the Lion family," Carillon said. "Rick is a program builder, and his expertise and love for the game of soccer shined through in our interview process. We are fortunate to have him leading our program, and look forward to this next chapter in NDCL Girls Soccer."

Sirl has spent over 25 years working in turf and grounds maintenance and he is currently employed at Cleveland State University. 

RIck is a resident of Willowick, he is married with a son and three daughters.
