Congratulations to Mitchell Wesen on being named News-Herald Player of the Week for the week of February 2nd.
Wesen is coming off a five-match stretch of 200+ high games, leading the Boys Bowling team with a 200 high game and 397 high series versus Mayfield and a 208 high game and 400 high series
against Chalker last week.
He continued his stellar play into the sectional tournament on February 7th, advancing to districts as an individual. Wesen finished fourth place overall in singles with a 208 high game and series of 566. He is the eighth boys bowler in school history to qualify for districts.
The senior was most recently named to first team all-NCC for his third-place singles finish in the conference tournament on February 1st. He recorded a high game of 254 and career-high series of 631, making him the Lions' top scorer in the conference championships.
Wesen will represent NDCL in the district tournament on Friday, February 20th at Rebman Recreation in Lorain.
