BOYS TENNIS
vs CVCA (5/4)- Boys Varsity Tennis fell 0-5 to CVCA. Boys JV Tennis lost 0-4 to Geneva.
NCC Tournament (5/7)- NDCL Boys Tennis finished third at Thursday's NCC Tournament. Christian Bittner led the way earning first team honors. Bittner finished second place in the first singles tournament. Dylan Hernandez, Lucy Blankenship, and Jason Sotkovsky were all named to second team all-NCC. Hernandez took third place in the second singles tournament and the first doubles team of Blankenship and Sotkovsky also finished third. Alex Russell took third place in third singles, and the second doubles team of Madalena Fulton and Rook Eckert also finished third.
at Chardon (5/8)- Boys Varsity Tennis lost 0-5 to Chardon on the road.
BASEBALL
vs Holy Name (5/4)- Varsity Baseball topped Holy Name in a close 2-1 battle at home. Joey Mazzolini and Evan Eichas both recorded one hit and one RBI in the game. Jason Rook and Aiden McCord scored one run each to put the Lions on the board. Jack Montague earned the win with a season-high 11 strikeouts and just one earned run on four hits. JV Baseball lost 6-12 to Holy Name, and Freshman Baseball fell 1-2 to Gilmour Academy.
at Hawken (5/7)- Varsity Baseball defeated Hawken on the road 10-7. The Lions were led by Keenan Ryans with two hits on five at-bats, two runs scored, and two RBI. Joey Mazzolini hit a triple on four at-bats and logged two RBI. Jason Rook also contributed a hit and two RBI. Aiden McCord, Zach Unetic, and Keenan Ryans all appeared on the mound in the game. The trio combined for three strikeouts. Freshman Baseball defeated Eastlake North 13-3 for their second win of the season.
at Holy Name (5/8)- Varsity Baseball fell 4-5 in a conference road battle to Holy Name. Jack Montague and Joey Mazzolini logged the Lions' two hits in the game; Montague logged three RBI and Mazzolini brought in one run. Jason Rook also contributed two runs, and Zach Unetic tallied an RBI. Mazzolini and Austin Otero both appeared on the mound for the Lions in the game and combined for three strikeouts. JV Baseball lost 5-15 to Eastlake North.
vs Padua (5/9)- Varsity Baseball fell in a conference battle to Padua at home 0-2. Braeden Ryan recorded a team-high two hits on his two at-bats. Joey Mazzolini and Ben Novak contributed one hit each. Despite the loss, Lucas Marlow pitched a solid game for the Lions. He struck out three batters in six innings with two earned runs. JV and Freshman Baseball lost 5-17 and 6-7 to Gilmour and Eastlake North. Varsity Baseball moved to 10-8 on the season and 3-6 in conference play. The Lions will be back in action on Monday, May 11th as they host rival Lake Catholic at 5:00 PM.
SOFTBALL
vs Holy Name (5/4)- Varsity Softball fell 0-1 in a pitcher's duel to Holy Name at home. Despite the loss on the mound, Alex Mould pitched another exceptional game. She struck out six batters with no earned runs and just five opponent hits in the game. Maya Rowan recorded the team's only hit on three at-bats. JV Softball lost 4-14 to the Green Wave.
vs Padua (5/7)- Varsity Softball shut out Padua 5-0 on Senior Night. Becca Wooke and Lily Rader led the Lions with two hits each, Wooke contributing one RBI. Izzy Bair-Pennington contributed one hit and one RBI to the offense. Alex Mould earned the win on the mound with 10 strikeouts, no earned runs, and just one hit in seven innings pitched. The Lions improved to 7-4 in conference play. Seniors Alex Mould, Annaliese Racic, Izzy Bair-Pennington, Maya Rowan, and Bella Longano were recognized before the start of the game for their contributions to the program.
at Chardon (5/8)- Varsity Softball lost to Chardon 2-5 in a non-conference battle at Munson Township Park. Bella Wooke and Alex Mould led the Lions offensively, both with two hits on three at-bats and an RBI each. Maya Rowan hit a double in the game on two at-bats. Becca Wooke and Sienna Steinmetz contributed one hit each to the Lions' seven as a team. Mould pitched six innings and struck out four batters. Varsity Softball moved to 13-7 on the season. The team will be back on the field on Monday, May 11th hosting rival Lake Catholic at 4:30 PM.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
vs Kenston (5/4)- Boys Volleyball lost in five sets to Kenston at home 3-2.
at Chardon (5/5)- Boys Volleyball fell in a competitive five-set battle to Chardon on the road. The Lions dropped the first two sets 17-25 and 7-25, came back to win sets three and four 25-20, 27-25, and lost set five 8-15.
vs Eastlake North (5/7)- Boys Volleyball dropped their Senior Night match to Eastlake North 0-3 (17-25, 21-25, 26-28). Seniors Aaron Cotturo, Brennan Kogovsek, Bryce Ratka, Nik Richards, Derek Scheidt, Matt Seitz, Luka Sesar, and Blake Turek were all recognized before the start of the match. The Lions claim the ninth seed in the OHSAA postseason tournament and will travel to eighth seeded East Tech in the first-round regional qualifier on Tuesday, May 12th.
BOYS LACROSSE
vs Willoughby South (5/5)- Boys Lacrosse defeated Willoughby South 5-4 at home for their sixth win of the season. Cullen Purcell led the Lions with a game-high two goals and Will Paskevich, Ryder Gorman, and Alex Jaworski all scored one goal each.
at Aurora (5/7)- Boys Lacrosse dropped a non-conference battle on the road to Aurora 4-12. Lion goals were scored by Alex Jaworski and Cullen Purcell, both scoring two goals each.
vs Southeast (5/9)- Boys Varsity Lacrosse picked up a dominant 14-3 win over Southeast on Senior Day. The Lions were led by Alex Jaworski with a new career-high of seven goals. Cullen Purcell, Marco Leccese, and Ryder Gorman all scored two goals apiece, and Canyon Yeager contributed one goal. Seniors Alex Jaworski, Jack Worthington, and Canyon Yeager were all recognized before the start of the game. The Lions will play in their final game of the regular season on Monday, May 11th at Padua. The team currently holds a 7-8 regular season record.
GIRLS LACROSSE
at Lake Catholic (5/5)- With Girls Lacrosse's 13-10 win at Lake Catholic, the team not only defeated the Cougars for the first time since 2019 but also won NDCL's first conference title in school history. The Lions finished the regular season with a perfect 7-0 record in conference play and 12-3 overall. In last night's win versus Lake Catholic, Macey Beers logged a game-high four goals, her 12th game this season scoring three or more goals. Maggie Kane recorded her sixth hat trick of the season and Meredith Gerbitz, Gia Roberts, Olivia Reagan, Lily Fakult, and Julia Martin all scored one goal each in the win. The NCC Champion NDCL Lions secured the #4 seed in the OHSAA Tournament and will host the #18 seed in the first round on Tuesday, May 12th.

Casey McInnerney - 1st place in long jump (21-08.75), 100m dash (11.23), 4x400 relay (3:29.29),
Zoey Myers - 1st place in 1600m run (5:18.02), 3200m run (11:25.13). The 4x400 relay team of Bonchak, McInnerney, Tyler Milk, and Brandon DiPasquale also brought home a conference title with a first-place finish in 3:29.29.
