Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin JV girls tennis continued its early-season momentum Wednesday, earning its second consecutive victory with a 4-1 road win over conference opponent Elyria Catholic.

The Lions received contributions throughout the lineup, winning four of five courts and securing their victories in straight sets.

Chloe Schilling led the way in singles play, while Addy Niksa and Bridget Coulson earned a victory in doubles.

The afternoon also featured several firsts for the developing NDCL lineup. Brenna Bindas, Livy Lukacs, Sophia Pelton and Ella Soeder each recorded the first high school victories of their careers.

"Everyone contributed to the team win today!" head coach Alex Dowger said.

The victory came one match after NDCL earned its first win of the season with a 3-2 decision over Bay. After relying on two doubles victories and a deciding third-set tiebreaker against Bay, the Lions followed with a more decisive performance against Elyria Catholic to make it two straight.

Wednesday also marked a coaching milestone, as the result gave Dowger his 350th career victory.

The milestone provided another reason to celebrate, but the team-wide contributions remained at the center of a successful road performance for the Lions.

NDCL returns to competition Thursday, Aug. 20.
