Friday night football returns to Lion Stadium as Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin welcomes West Geauga for the 2026 home opener on Friday, August 28. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The Lions return home for Week 2 after opening the season on the road at Struthers and will take the field in front of the NDCL community for the first time this fall.

Game Preview
After opening the 2026 campaign on the road, NDCL turns its attention to its first home test of the season against West Geauga.
Friday night provides the Lions their first opportunity of the fall to compete at Lion Stadium and kicks off a two-game home stand. NDCL will remain home next week to host Kenston before returning to the road. Both teams enter Friday night at 1-0, setting the stage for an early-season match up between two programs separated by just a short drive in Geauga County. With both teams looking to remain unbeaten and plenty of local familiarity between the communities, the Lions' home opener brings some added energy to Week 2.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early as the NDCL Band will take the field as part of the pregame festivities, which will also include the National Anthem and prayer before the Lions and Wolverines take the field for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
