Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin JV football built an early advantage and responded when Holy Name made its second-half push, earning a 27-22 home victory Saturday.

Brody Moran accounted for three touchdowns to lead the Lions' offense, scoring once on the ground and twice through the air.

Moran opened the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown run. NDCL added another score before halftime when Moran connected with Brendan Burtch to finish an efficient two-minute drive.

The Lions carried that momentum into the second half. Nicky Roberts, playing his first game since returning from injury, caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Moran to extend the NDCL advantage.

Holy Name responded with two touchdowns to cut into the Lions' lead and put the outcome back in doubt.

NDCL answered with an important drive of its own.

Braeden Jacobson helped move the Lions down the field before finishing the possession with a 16-yard touchdown run. Jacobson also contributed at linebacker as NDCL worked to protect its advantage.

The Lions held on from there to secure the 27-22 victory.

Moran finished with two passing touchdowns and one rushing score, while Burtch and Roberts were on the receiving end of his two touchdown passes.

NDCL returns to action against Padua.
