LAST WEEK
Varsity Football fell 35-7 to the undefeated CVCA Royals in week eight. CVCA got off to a rolling start, leading the Lions 35-0 at halftime. NDCL's defense stood strong in the second half, holding the high-powered Royals offense scoreless in the third and fourth quarters. Casey McInnerney put the Lions on the board in the third quarter on a 13-yard pitch-and-run into the endzone. Brady Capel completed seven of his 15 passes for 84 yards and led the Lions with 18 rushing yards. Blake Dumermuth caught a team-high of three passes for 44 yards. Carmen Cirino recorded a team-high of 11 tackles in the game. Joey Penny tallied five tackles and forced a Royals fumble that was recovered by Braeden Ryan.
