NDCL Girls Volleyball is STATE BOUND once again! The program will be making their fifth trip to the state tournament under 18-year head coach Tom Ray.
NDCL is headed back to the state tournament following Saturday's regional championship win over Kenston. NDCL swept Kenston in three sets 25-20, 25-21, and 25-17 to win the program's fifth regional title.
The Lions have made a dominant run to the state tournament, defeating Madison 3-0 in the sectional final, Cloverleaf 3-1 in the district semi, Canfield 3-0 in the district final, Gilmour 3-0 in the regional semi, and Kenston 3-0 in the regional final.
It was a complete team effort in NDCL's 3-0 win over Kenston in Saturday's regional final. Frankie Brkic and Mia Moissis both tallied double-digit kills and digs in the game. Brkic had a team-high 12 kills and 11 digs and Moissis notched 11 kills and a team best 14 digs. Grace Daniels recorded a game-high 40 assists to go along with 10 digs and five kills. Abby Tolin led the Lions defense with 13 digs and Charlie Mann came off the bench and contributed a game-high three aces.
The Lions are headed back to the state tournament for the second time in four years. The team will look to repeat what they did in 2022, capping off the season with a state championship.
NDCL will face Bloom-Carroll on Friday, November 7th in the state semifinal at Wittenburg University at 1:30 PM. If the Lions defeat Bloom-Carroll, they will play the winner of Archbishop Hoban and Tippecanoe in the state championship game. The state title game will be played at Wright State University on Saturday, November 8th at 6:00 PM.
