Congratulations to Wesley Jacobson on being named News-Herald Player of the Week for the week of December 1st.
Jacobson's stellar offensive display and new career-high of 33 points propelled the Lions to their first win of the season 78-71 over Harvey on December 6th. The junior scored nearly half of the team's points in their home opening victory over a talented Red Raiders squad. Jacobson knocked down five three pointers, scored seven field goals, and sunk four of his six free throw attempts. His size and offensive talent make him a tough guard for the opposing team with his ability to stretch the floor. This is Jacobson's first season as the starting power forward for the Varsity Lions. He's averaging 18.7 points in four games so far this season.
NDCL Boys Basketball will be back in action on Friday night as they open North Coast Conference competition at Benedictine.
Great work, Wes!
