NDCL Girls Basketball standouts Emma Clayton and Maya Rowan were named honorable mention Northeast Lakes all-district recipients, announced Thursday afternoon.
Clayton served as the offensive focal point for the Lions this season. The senior forward led the Lions this season in scoring and blocks with nine points and 1.1 blocks per game. She also added seven rebounds and scored in double figures in ten of the Lions' 24 games this season. Clayton scored a season-high 18 points in NDCL's 55-51 win over Garfield Heights as part of the Cavs Elite Hoops Series played at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on January 8th.
Rowan was the consistent sparkplug for this season Lions off the bench, contributing her hustle, physicality, and offensive ability. The junior guard was second on the team in scoring with seven points, three rebounds, and two assists per game. Rowan recorded a new career-high of 17 points in the Lions' sectional final win over Youngstown East in the first round of the OHSAA tournament.
Congratulations on your all-district selections, Emma and Maya!
