Four Lions from boys varsity basketball earned North Coast all-conference honors for the 2024-25 season.
Seniors Connor Hernan and Angelo Tamburrino were named to first team all-NCC. Hernan's senior season has been nothing short of outstanding. The senior forward leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, averaging a double-double with 17.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per game shooting 58.4 percent from the field and 35 percent from behind the arc. Hernan has scored ten or more points in 20 of the Lions' 23 games this season. This is the second straight season that Hernan has been named to first team all-conference. He was also named 2024-25 Northeast Lakes Division IV Player of the Year, announced Friday afternoon.
Tamburrino serves as the physical, defensive specialist for the Lions, responsible for guarding the opposing team's best player in every game. The senior guard also contributed on the offensive end as he was second on the team in scoring with 10.6 points per game. He leads the team in deflections, steals with 34 and assists with 44. Tamburrino scored a season-high 22 points in NDCL's 66-59 win at Lake Catholic for their second straight season sweep of the Cougars.
Luke Keep was named to second team all-conference. The junior sharpshooter scored nine points per game this season and led the Lions with 26 three-point field goals. He also corralled 55 total rebounds and dished out 31 assists. Keep started all 20 regular season games for the Lions this season and recorded a career-high 17 points in the teams' comeback win over Hawken.
Brendan Hernan collected NCC honorable mention recognition. Off the bench, Hernan scored 7.7 points per game this season and grabbed 88 total rebounds. The junior forward recorded two double-doubles and scored in double figures in five games. Hernan served as the Lions' leading scorer in two games this season. He scored a career-high 19 points in the teams' 66-58 win over Elyria Catholic and tallied 15 against Ursuline.
