LAST WEEK
Varsity Football defeated Bedford 27-21 on the road in week five to move to 4-1. Brady Capel threw for two touchdowns and completed six of his 15 passes for 61 yards. His first touchdown was caught by tight end Jonah Janosy in the first quarter to give the Lions an early 7-0 lead. Casey McInnerney receieved Capel's second touchdown pass of 20-yards. McInnerney recorded a team-high of 51 yards on five receptions. Dylan Hoenigman rushed for 36 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown. The Lion defense was solid once again, holding Bedford to just three scores and forcing three fumbles in the game. Vance Marut tallied a team-high of eight tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble. Brendan Hernan had five tackles, two sacks, and two tackles for loss and Braeden Ryan also had five tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and a forced fumble. Robby Lipowski accounted for the Lions' third forced fumble in the game and also added four tackles. Ryan Cvitkovic connected on two field goals in the game and was three-for-three on extra point attempts.
