NDCL Athletics Top Performers: Week of January 5th

Alex Willis, Senior – Boys Bowling: Willis led the Lions in their comeback win over Wickliffe to snap their two-match losing streak. The senior scored a high game of 197 and a high series of 338 to propel the team to a victory. 

Josie Mislay, Senior – Girls Bowling: 
Mislay served as the high bowler in the Lions' two match wins this week over both Wickliffe and Brush. She led the team with a 177 high game and 296 high series against Wickliffe and a 146 high game and 277 high series versus Brush.  

Coco Cochran, Sophomore – Girls Basketball: Cochran 
recorded a game-high of 21 points in the Lions' big 60-39 win versus John Hay. Cochran's 21 points was her fourth of 13 games played so far this season scoring 20-plus points. She's averaging a team-high 14.1 points per game.  

Rob 
Bonchak, Senior – Indoor Track: Bonchak finished in second place of 55 runners competing in the 400M dash at Penn State University's Kevin Dare Invitational. Bonchak completed the race in an impressive time of 49.69, his season best.  

Casey McInnerney, Junior – Indoor Track: McInnerney took fifth and sixth place in the long jump and 60M 
dash at the Kevin Dare Invitational. He finished with a 21-0.75 mark in the long jump and a time of 7.11 in the 60M dash. 

Emilee Gruss, Sophomore – Girls Indoor Track: Gruss took second in the 200M dash at the NEOITC Green Meet #1 with a time of 26.63. In the Kevin Dare Invitational, Gruss finishe
d 15th in the 400M dash in 1:01.20. Her second and 15th place finishes this week in both meets were team bests.  

Zach Bores & Braeden Jacobson, Senior/Junior - Wrestling: Both Bores and Jacobson went 4-1 
and finished in fifth place overall in their weight classes at the Matteucci Memorial Tournament.  
Jason Rook, Junior – Boys Basketball: Rook tallied a new career-high of 14 points in the Lions' 20-point conference win over Holy Name 72-52.  

Robby Lipowski, Junior – Boys Basketball: Lipowski scored a team and career-high 17 points in NDCL's 
hard-fought loss to Ursuline. His 17 points included three-three pointers, another career-high for the junior guard. 

Nic Davis, Sophomore – Ice Hockey: Davis led the Lions 
with four goals and three assists in the team's wins over Cleveland Heights and Lakewood. He scored the game winning goal with six seconds left versus Cleveland Heights to win 2-1 and recorded a game-high three goals and three assists in the 9-1 victory over Lakewood.  

Colin Krajnak, Senior – Ice Hockey: Krajnak scored three goals and tallied two assists in the Lions' back-to-back wins this we
ekend over Cleveland Heights and Lakewood. The senior scored one goal and had one assist versus Cleveland Heights and notched two goals and one assist against Lakewood. 

Brooke Dynes, Senior – Swimming: 
Dynes led both the girls and boys swim teams with the top individual finish at the Perry Invitational. She took first place in her signature 100 breaststroke event. Dynes broke a 27-year-old pool record at Perry in the 100 breaststroke with an outstanding time of 1:05.43.
