Four Lions from Boys Basketball earned all-conference honors for the 2025-26 regular season in Brendan Hernan, Wes Jacobson, Luke Keep, and Jason Rook.
Brendan Hernan received the prestigious honor of NCC Player of the Year and first team. Hernan impressively averaged a double-double this season and led the team with 16.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game. The senior recorded eight games of 20-plus points that included a new career-high of 28 points and 21 rebounds versus VASJ on February 7th. Hernan has been an invaluable member of the Boys Varsity Basketball program for the past three years, playing every game with relentless hustle, heart, and using his natural athleticism and strength to his advantage.
Wes Jacobson also earned first team all-NCC recognition. Jacobson had a successful first year as a varsity starter for the Lions, averaging 15.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and knocked down a team-high 37 three-pointers this season. The talented stretch forward used his offensive skills to score on his opponents from the field and beyond the arc, making him a tough guard for opposing teams. He had five games scoring 20-plus points and tallied a career-high of 33 points and 15 rebounds versus Harvey on December 6th.
Luke Keep, a three-year varsity starter, collected second team all-NCC for the second straight season. Keep served as the experienced floor general at point guard this season and exceled in that role, averaging 11.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and a team-high 3.1 assists per game. He also recorded new career-highs in both points (24) and rebounds (9) on February 18th versus Lake Catholic on Keep and Hernan's Senior Night.
Jason Rook was named honorable mention all-NCC after a successful first season starting for the varsity squad. Rook made an immediate impact in the starting lineup this season, both on offense and defense. Defensively, guarding the opposing team's best player, and offensively, averaging 10.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. He was also second on the team in three-pointers made this season with 30. Rook recorded his career-high of 19 points at CVCA on February 3rd and had ten games of scoring in double figures.
