NDCL Athletics Top Performers: Week of April 13th

Joey Mazzolini, Senior – Baseball: Mazzolini got the win on the mound in NDCL's 6-2 win over Avon, while also having great success at the plate. In four innings pitched, Mazzolini recorded six strikeouts and just one opponent hit and two earned runs. He also led the team on offense with three hits on five at-bats and an RBI.  

Boys Tennis team – Boys Tennis defeated Brush 4-1 in a terrific team effort for their first win of the season. Christian Bittner (
1st singles), Dylan Hernandez (2nd singles), Alex Russell (3rd singles), and Grant Lewis/Bryan Purcell (second doubles) all picked up wins for the Lions in the match. 

Macey Beers, Senior – Girls Lacrosse: Beers led the team this week offensively this week
 with a total of nine goals in three games this week. The senior has scored an impressive three or more goals in eight of the team's nine games so far this season.  

Meredith Gerbitz, Sophomore – Girls Lacrosse: In the Lions' seventh straight win over Riverside on Saturday, Gerbitz 
recorded a game-high three goals and her first career hat trick. Gerbitz scored five goals across three games this week. 

Maggie Kane
, Senior – Girls Lacrosse: Kane recorded a new career-high of four goals in the Lions' 10-4 conference win over Beaumont on Wednesday. She scored the second-most goals on the team in three games this week with a total of eight.  

Ryder Gorman, Junior – Boys Lacrosse: Gorman 
led the Lions with a team-high two goals in the team's loss to Mentor on Thursday. He led the team this week with three goals scored in two games. 

Girls Outdoor Track & Field team – The Girls team posted 
six top five relay finishes at the Gene Kobus Perry Relays on Saturday. Four of the six top five finishes were in first place (4x100 Relay, 4x1600 Relay, 4x400 Relay, 4x800 Relay).  

Boys Outdoor Track & Field team – The Boys team recorded nine top five finishes in Saturday's Gene
Kobus Perry Relays. Four of those top five finishes took first place (4x110 Shuttle Relay, Sprint Medley Relay, 4x400 Relay, and Casey McInnerney in the Long Jump). 

Boys
 Volleyball team: The Lions defeated Kenston in a resilient, five-set thriller on Monday for their second win of the season. In a back-and-forth contest, NDCL lost the first set, won the second set, lost the third set, and came back to win the fourth and fifth sets.
