Five Lions from Varsity Baseball earn all-NCC honors

Five Lions from Varsity Baseball received all-conference recognition for the 2026 season. 

Joey Mazzolini and Jack Montague
earned first team all-NCC for the first time in their careers. Mazzolini led the Lions offensively this season with a .381 batting average, .494 on base percentage, 24 hits, 20 singles, and 12 stolen bases. He also contributed double-digits in both runs with 14 and RBIs with 11. Jack Montague, a Tennessee Tech University baseball commit, also earned first team for his successful season on the mound. Montague posted a 2.76 ERA this season with 41 strikeouts and a win-loss record of 3-3. He was a consistent contributor at the plate for the Lions, as well, with a team-high 15 RBI, 12 hits, and an on-base percentage of .385. 

Jason Rook was named to second team all-conference. R
ook, in his second year as a varsity starter as a junior, had another solid season at shortstop. He led the team in runs with 20, had a total of 17 hits, eight RBI, and was second on the team in stolen bases with nine.  

Aiden McCord and Keenan Ryans
collected honorable mention all-NCC. McCord was a valuable piece for the Lions both on the mound and at the plate this season. He went 3-2 as the starting pitcher with 24 strikeouts and a 3.88 ERA. McCord finished with a .271 batting average, 13 hits, 13 runs, and six RBI. Keenan Ryans found his groove offensively this season. He had an on-base percentage of .423, and had 15 hits, 18 runs, and seven stolen bases.   

Varsity Baseball completed the regular season 11-10 and
4-7 in conference play. The Lions are the 16-seed in the OHSAA DIII tournament and will host the 20-seed Kenston in the sectional final on Wednesday, May 20th.
