Seven Lions from Varsity Softball receive all-NCC honors

Mould, Rowan, Steinmetz, and Wooke earn first team

Seven Lions from Varsity Softball earn all-NCC honors for the 2026 season, four named to first team.

Mould, Maya Rowan, Bella Wooke, and Sienna Steinmetz all earned first team all-conference.

Mould, the four-year starting pitcher, had another excellent season. The standout senior was named conference Pitcher of the Year for the second time in her career. In NDCL's 9-1 win over CVCA on April 27th, Mould eclipsed the impressive milestone of 500-career strikeouts. She finished the season with a 2.82 ERA, 202 strikeouts, and a win percentage of 63. Mould was also a valuable piece to NDCL's offense, as she contributed 23 hits, 13 RBI, and hit two home runs.

Maya Rowan was excellent once again this season in her fourth year as the starting catcher. Rowan was second on the team in batting average (.344), led the team in doubles with nine, and recorded 16 RBI and 22 runs.

Bella Wooke had her best season to date as a three-year starter at first base. Wooke posted the team's highest batting average of 0.514 and had team-highs in hits (36), RBI (27), and triples (5).

Sienna Steinmetz received first team all-NCC for the second consecutive season as a sophomore. The skilled, speedy lead-off hitter was second on the team in batting average (.471), hits (32), led the team in runs with 29, and logged 14 RBI. She also tallied a team-high of 19 stolen bases.  

Lily Rader was named to second team all-NCC this season. Rader posted a .338 batting average, 23 hits, 18 RBI,
and 24 runs. She also hit four doubles, two triples, and a home run this season. Rader was also second on the team with nine stolen bases.  

Becca Wooke and Sadie Wurm
received honorable mention all-conference for their efforts this season. Becca Wooke finished with a .313 batting average, 21 hits, 26 RBI, and 20 runs. She also hit four doubles and three triples. Sadie Wurm, one of the Lions' key pieces on defense at second base, notched 16 hits, 12 RBI, 15 runs, and five stolen bases.  

The Varsity Lions completed the season
13-9 and 8-4 in conference play. The team had notable wins this season over CVCA (twice), Mayfield, Medina Highland, and St. Joseph Academy. Congratulations to NDCL Varsity Softball on another great season and to our seven all-conference team awardees!
