STOW, Ohio — A lengthy weather delay did little to disrupt the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin girls golf team Monday as the Lions posted one of their best tournament scores of the past two seasons at the Lady Bulldog Invitational at Fox Den Golf Course.

NDCL carded a 347 to place seventh in an 18-team field, finishing just two strokes behind sixth place, three behind fifth and 15 behind fourth. Brunswick won the tournament with a 307.

The 347 represented NDCL's second-lowest tournament team score over the past two seasons, trailing only the 345 the Lions shot to win last season's Mahoning Valley Classic.

Alexis Urigel led NDCL with an 82, while Claire Ribic followed with an 84. Lillian Kasper added an 89, and Taylor Wallingford's 92 completed the four counting scores. Hadleigh Hazen carded a 97.

The Lions maintained their consistency despite a 95-minute weather delay, returning to the course and securing a top-10 finish against a strong field.

"Today, we fired a 347, finishing in seventh place out of a strong field," the coaching staff said. "To put that into perspective, 347 is our second-lowest team tournament score over the past two seasons, right behind the 345 we shot to win the Mahoning Valley Classic last year."

NDCL returns to competition Monday, Aug. 17, against CVCA at Fowler's Mill Golf Course. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
