Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin boys soccer battled back from an early deficit Saturday before a late Bay goal handed the Lions a 2-1 loss at NDCL.

Bay struck first to put NDCL behind early, but the Lions responded to level the match at 1-1.

Brendan Rand provided the equalizer for NDCL, finishing an opportunity created by Dario Musa, who recorded the assist.

From there, the Lions kept the match even deep into the second half. With the score still tied and only three minutes remaining, Bay found the go-ahead goal to take a 2-1 advantage.

NDCL was unable to answer in the closing minutes, leaving the Lions on the wrong side of a match that remained undecided until the final stages.

Despite the result, NDCL showed an early ability to respond after falling behind and kept itself in position for a result throughout the match.

The Lions return to action on the road at Crestwood.
