Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin girls golf continued its successful start to the season Monday, defeating CVCA, 181-202, at Fowler's Mill Golf Course.
The Lions received contributions throughout the lineup to earn the 21-stroke victory on the Maple nine.
Senior Alexis Urigel led NDCL with a 42, while senior Claire Ribic followed with a 44. Sophomore Lillian Kasper added a 47 to give the Lions three rounds below 50.
Seniors Taylor Wallingford and Juliette Racic each carded a 48, while junior Hadleigh Hazen completed the lineup with a 50.
NDCL's ability to remain composed proved important on a day when the pace of play was noticeably slower. Rather than allowing the different rhythm to disrupt their rounds, the Lions adjusted and worked their way through the course.
"On a day when the course play was noticeably slower, we were able to navigate through the Maple nine," the coaching staff said. "Each day is different, and we must find ways to adjust pace and the thought process that goes with it. Process over results."
The victory marked NDCL's second win over CVCA this season after the Lions earned a 161-196 road victory at Fox Den Golf Course on Aug. 5.
NDCL returns to competition Wednesday, Aug. 19, against Padua at Tanglewood Golf Club.
