Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin JV girls tennis earned its first victory of the season with a 3-2 win over Bay High School, using a sweep of doubles play and a decisive third-set tiebreaker to secure the team result.

NDCL controlled both doubles matches, with Ela Grzywinski, Irelyn Koenig, Nina Injic and Jamison Smith combining to deliver two important points for the Lions.

That left the match to be decided in singles play.

At No. 1 singles, Chloe Schilling battled through three sets before narrowly falling in a third-set tiebreaker.

With the overall team result still in the balance, Bridget Coulson delivered at No. 3 singles. Coulson worked her way through another close three-set match and won the deciding tiebreaker, securing the third point NDCL needed to finish the 3-2 victory.

The combination of strong doubles play and Coulson's composure in the deciding moments gave the JV Lions their first win of the season and provided another step forward for the developing lineup.
