Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin girls golf adjusted to windy, fall-like conditions Monday and continued its strong early-season play with a 161-184 road victory over Beaumont at Airport Greens Golf Course.
The Lions placed two golfers under 40 and received steady contributions throughout the lineup to secure the 23-stroke victory.
Alexis Urigel led NDCL with a 36, while Claire Ribic broke 40 over nine holes with a 38. Taylor Wallingford followed with a 42 to give the Lions three scores of 42 or better.
Lillian Kasper added a 45, while Hadleigh Hazen carded a 46 and Juliette Racic finished with a 47.
Beyond the scores, Monday presented another opportunity for NDCL to apply an approach that has become a consistent theme throughout the season: focus on the process and adjust to what the course presents.
"We overcame the weather, which was 'fall like' and extremely windy," the coaching staff said. "We play the course and the conditions as we focus on the process and not the outcome. Extremely proud of the resilience and the way the team competes."
That resilience allowed the Lions to navigate conditions that could easily disrupt a round and instead produce another balanced team performance.
NDCL has now posted a 161 twice in nine-hole matches this season, matching its score from an Aug. 5 victory over CVCA.
The Lions return to the course Wednesday, Aug. 26, when they face Padua at Shawnee Hills Golf Course.
