Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin JV girls tennis completed an undefeated run through North Coast Conference play Monday, defeating Beaumont, 3-2, to finish its conference schedule with a perfect 5-0 record.

The Lions improved to 6-4 overall, with senior Gabby Dempsey delivering the deciding point in a match that came down to a tiebreaker.

Playing at No. 1 singles, Dempsey dropped the opening set 6-4 before responding with a 6-1 victory in the second. With the team match hanging in the balance, Dempsey prevailed 10-8 in the deciding tiebreaker to secure NDCL's third point and the victory.

Junior Chloe Schilling continued her strong play with a win at No. 2 singles, providing another important point for the Lions.

NDCL also continued its success in doubles. Nina Injic and Jamison Smith earned a straight-set victory at No. 1 doubles, helping put the Lions in position to secure the 3-2 team win.

"Another tough tie-breaker win for the Lions," head coach Alex Dowger said.

Monday's victory capped a perfect conference schedule for the JV Lions. NDCL went 5-0 against its North Coast Conference opponents, with contributions throughout the lineup helping the team navigate several close matches along the way.

The Lions return to the court Tuesday, Sept. 1, against Kenston.
