The 2024-25 Boys Varsity Basketball team has set a new school record with 16 wins in a single season.
The team eclipsed the 16-win mark with tonight's 59-43 win over Firelands High School in the OHSAA Division IV district semifinal. The previous program record for wins in a single season was 15, set in the 2022-23 and 2012-13 seasons as the Lions went 15-10 and 15-9.
Under head coach Pat Vuyancih's leadership over the past three seasons, the Lions have compiled a record of 38-27. In his first season as head coach in 2022-23, NDCL appeared in the district semifinal and will now make their second straight trip to the district final.
The Lions completed the regular season 14-8 and finished third in the North Coast Conference standings at 6-4. NDCL earned the eighth seed in the division IV northeast district and will face ninth-seeded Hawken in the district final.
NDCL Boys Varsity Basketball takes the court Saturday, March 1st for the 2025 district final versus Hawken School. Tip-off is at 7:00 PM at North Ridgeville High School. The winner of the game moves on to regionals.
