Congratulations to Joey Mazzolini on being named News-Herald Player of the Week for the week of April 13th. 

In three games last week, Mazzolini paced the Lions with a total of five singles on 11 at-bats with one run and one RBI. In Varsity Baseball's 6-2 win over Avon, Mazzolini shined both on the mound and at the plate. The senior pitcher/outfielder recorded a game-high three hits on five attempts with an RBI. Mazzolini also earned the win on the mound for the Lions, striking out six batters and allowing only two earned runs and one hit in four innings pitched. 

NDCL Varsity Baseball went 1-2 last week with close losses to Elyria Catholic and a non-conference victory over a strong Avon Eagles team.  

Mazzolini and the Varsity Lions are back in action today on the road versus Cardinal at 5:00 PM. The team rests at 4-6 as they approach the halfway point of the regular season.
