Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin girls tennis adjusted its singles lineup and pushed Solon throughout Wednesday's match before falling 3-2 on the road.

Playing without Ella Workinger, the Lions moved Lea Nemer into the first singles position, where she responded with a convincing 6-0, 6-2 victory.

Freshman Estee Luiz also moved up in the lineup and delivered NDCL's second point at No. 2 singles. Luiz earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory to give the Lions wins on two of the three singles courts.

At third singles, Chloe Schilling made the move into the varsity lineup and nearly provided another point. Schilling battled through two competitive sets before falling 4-6, 6-7.

Solon earned the remaining points to secure the 3-2 team victory. NDCL's doubles teams faced a strong test against the Comets' top four players as Solon prepared for sectional competition.

Despite competing with an adjusted lineup, the Lions remained within one court of the team victory. Nemer and Luiz capitalized on their opportunities at the top of the singles lineup, while Schilling showed her ability to compete in her varsity opportunity.

NDCL has a quick turnaround and returns to action Thursday at Gilmour.
