Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin boys soccer combined a timely second-half goal with a seven-save performance from goalkeeper Angelo Preziuso to earn a 1-0 road victory over Madison on Thursday.
After the teams played through a scoreless first half, NDCL found the breakthrough after halftime.
Dario Musa set up David Lann, who finished the opportunity for his third goal of the season. The assist was Musa's first of the year and provided the only goal the Lions would need.
From there, NDCL protected the advantage behind its defense and Preziuso.
The Lions' goalkeeper turned away all seven Madison shots on goal to secure his second clean sheet of the season. The performance increased Preziuso's season total to 38 saves.
According to the statistics provided by the program, Preziuso entered the match ranked No. 15 in Ohio Division IV and No. 1 in the North Coast Conference with a 2.149 goals-against average.
Thursday's result continued a strong stretch for NDCL. The Lions have recorded victories over Elyria Catholic, Cardinal Mooney and Madison in their last three reported contests, allowing just one goal across those matches.
The Lions return home Saturday, Sept. 26, to host Hawken.
