Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin JV football continued its strong start Saturday, combining an opportunistic defense with four offensive touchdowns to earn a 30-0 road victory over Kenston.

The shutout was NDCL's second in as many games and moved the Lions to 3-0 on the season.

NDCL established control in the opening half. Quarterback Brody Moran connected with Ben Burtch on a deep touchdown pass to get the Lions on the scoreboard, while Hayden Bashein added his first touchdown as a Lion on the ground.

The Lions carried a 16-0 advantage into halftime.

Moran helped put the game away after the break, rushing for two second-half touchdowns to finish the afternoon responsible for three scores — one through the air and two on the ground.

NDCL's defense made sure the early advantage held up. The Lions kept Kenston off the scoreboard throughout the game while forcing multiple turnovers. Vinny Dietrich contributed with big plays on the ground and made an impact defensively.

Josh Smul provided the final defensive highlight, intercepting a Kenston pass to close out the victory.

The performance continued an impressive defensive stretch for the JV Lions. After opening the season with a 41-6 win over Struthers, NDCL has posted consecutive shutouts against West Geauga and Kenston. The Lions have allowed just six points through their first three games.

NDCL returns home for its next contest against Benedictine.
