Junior Elena Fleming was recently named the 2023 USTA Diane McNeal Jr. Sportsmanship Award. This award is presented to a student-athlete that exhibits outstanding sportsmanship in the athletic arena. Other qualifications for this award include being a strong leader, overall performance in competition, and improvement throughout the season. 

Elena is a two-time State qualifier, three-time District qualifier, 2023 Solon Sectional champion, three-time Crown Conference singles champion, and has a 78-15 career record and 27-6 in 2023. 

Fleming is among other successful tennis players that have also won this award, other award winners include Emma Peeler (Ball State), Anna Roggenburk (Xavier), and Madeline Kavenagh (John Carroll). 

She will formally receive the award at the annual Toast To Tennis celebration on November 11th.
