The duo defeated Hoover in the district final match in a come-from-behind victory, losing the first set 3-6 and winning the next two 6-3 and 6-2.
Fleming and Workinger won all four of their district matches. They shut out Hudson 6-0, 6-0 in the first round and Magnificat 6-0, 6-0 in the quarterfinals to advance to the state tournament.
Fleming is no stranger to the state tournament, as this will be her third trip to state in four years, this season playing doubles. Workinger, a freshman, will make her first appearance at the state level.
The Girls DI State Tennis Tournament will begin on Thursday, October 17th at the College of Wooster with competition beginning at 9:00 AM. Day two of the state tournament will start at 9:00 AM the following day, Friday, October 18th.
