GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
vs CVCA (10/31)- Varsity Volleyball wins a five-set thriller over CVCA to advance to the program's third straight regional final. The Lions and Royals went back and forth the whole game with the Lions taking sets one, three, and five and the Royals winning sets two and four.
Frankie Brkic led the Lions with 16 kills, 14 digs, and three aces.
Ava Hills notched a game and season-high nine blocks along with five kills and one dig. Setters
Grace Daniels and
Selena Moissis combined for 40 assists and 27 digs in the game. The Lions will face Toledo St. Ursula in the regional final on Saturday, winner advances to the state final four.
vs Toledo St. Ursula Academy (11/2)- Varsity Volleyball fell to St. Ursula Academy 3-1 in the regional semifinal match. After dropping the first two sets, the Lions stormed back in the third set, winning by a nine-point margin. St. Ursula rallied back to take the third set and win 25-16. Junior
Tora Forte led the Lions with eight kills on offense and added one dig and one block. Senior
Grace Gaeta had four kills, four digs, and eight blocks in the match. Junior
Abby Tolin notched a team-high 21 digs to go along with six assists. Setters
Grace Daniels and
Selena Moissis combined for 30 assists and 25 digs. The Lions finished for the second straight season as the regional runners-up with a record of 19-8.
FOOTBALL
vs Glenville (11/1)- Varsity Football lost 47-20 to Glenville in the first round of the OHSAA Division IV playoffs. Quarterback
Ryan Lipowski completed 13 of 29 passes for 184 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Senior running back
Brayden Buell led the Lions run game with 26 yards and one touchdown. Lipowski's touchdown pass was caught by
Casey McInnerney, who also contributed four catches for 44 yards. The Lions finish the 2024 season 5-6 and 5-5 in the regular season.
CROSS COUNTRY
State Meet (11/2)- Owen Thomas represented NDCL at the OHSAA DII State Cross Country Meet at Fortress Obetz on Saturday. Thomas finished with a time of 16:09.30, good enough for a 53
rd place finish out of 178 runners. He was the fourth-best finishing freshman for the entire meet. As a freshman, Thomas was in the top four percent of the runners at the state meet.
