Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin girls tennis responded to a lineup challenge Tuesday with contributions throughout the order, earning a 3-2 home victory over Chagrin Falls.

With Ella Workinger unavailable, the Lions adjusted their singles lineup and received victories from Emma Wilcox and freshman Estee Luiz before Jamison Smith and Nina Injic delivered the clinching point at No. 2 doubles.

Lea Nemer moved into the No. 1 singles position and battled through a competitive match, including a 7-5 second-set loss.

Wilcox provided an important point at No. 2 singles, while Luiz continued an encouraging start to her varsity career at No. 3. The freshman dropped just one game across two sets to secure a straight-set victory.

With the team result still in the balance, Smith and Injic stepped up at No. 2 doubles. The duo won in straight sets to secure NDCL's third point and clinch the match.

At No. 1 doubles, Paige Bittner and Audrey Kilmer faced a Chagrin Falls pairing that included its top player and turned in a competitive performance.

The 3-2 victory followed NDCL's 4-1 win over Padua a day earlier, giving the Lions consecutive team victories.

NDCL returns to the court Wednesday, Aug. 26, when it hosts CVCA in North Coast Conference play.
