Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin boys golf shot 321 to place third among 24 teams at Tuesday's district tournament at Windmill Lakes, securing a berth in the state tournament at Firestone Country Club.
With the Lions' state qualification coming down to the final hole, Hamilton Miller sank a par putt to secure NDCL's third-place finish and send the team to state.
The pressure-filled finish continued a postseason defined by the Lions delivering when the margin has been at its smallest.
Lincoln Miller and Caige Cochran led NDCL with matching rounds of 75, tying for fourth individually among the 72-player field. Hamilton Miller followed with an 83, while Paul Williams carded an 88 and Danny Zaller finished with a 92.
"Another full team effort," head coach Edward Trebets said. "When a teammate is down, another player steps up and guides the team to our season-long goal."
That team approach has carried NDCL throughout its postseason run. The Lions won the North Coast Conference Tournament after entering the final hole one stroke behind, then captured the sectional championship in a playoff over Perry.
At districts, another clutch finish moved the Lions one step further.
NDCL will now compete on the state's biggest stage when the Lions travel to Firestone Country Club for the state tournament Oct. 11-12.
