Anthony Pozelnik was selected for his outstanding play as a tackle during his three years on the Latin varsity. His senior team had a 6-2-1 record under coach Herb Eisele. Although he played tackle, he was shifted to quarterback on certain occasions. Pozelnik was the leader on the line on offense and defense. He played end against undefeated West High and stopped their ace running back Kenny Noble, 13-6 at Latin Stadium. The Catholic title game against St. Ignatius ended in a scoreless tie.
Tony also played varsity basketball and helped lead the Lions to the Catholic City Championship over St. Ignatius. For his outstanding efforts on the line, Tony was chosen for the All-Catholic and All-Scholastic teams.
After graduation, Tony attended the University of Dayton where he played football and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering in 1935.
