1963 graduate Ken Hrabak was an exceptional pitcher for the Latin Lions as the school brought back its baseball program his senior year, and Ken played football as a running back and safety.  He was a star pitcher and as a matter of fact has a no-hitter baseball in the NDCL trophy case. In football, Ken played in the 1961 charity game and backed up Hall of Famer Clinton Jones in the Lions backfield. But his leadership skills on the ball field were perhaps his best characteristic as a student-athlete. His calm demeanor set an example and tone for his teammates to succeed.

After Latin, Ken went to Kent State University
and had a long career in the Cleveland Municipal School System. He and his wife Fran live in Chardon, not far from where we’re standing now, and two of his grandchildren graduated from Notre Dame Elementary School.
