Hall of Fame
A three-year letterman in football and basketball, Tim Shantz led his teams as captain his junior and senior years. He was also the first NDCL running back to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season and set the all-time leading rusher mark. In addition, he was awarded first-team News-Herald and first team All-NCL.
The NDCL 1995 Male Athlete of the Year also led NDCL to its first win over Lake Catholic with his two fourth-quarter touchdowns and 139 yards total rushing during the 1994 season. After his high school athletic career, Shantz played college football at John Carroll University and served with the U.S. Marines.
