Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School

Ray excelled on the basketball court and baseball diamond for Cathedral Latin. Ray played three years at Latin, as he used one year of eligibility at St. Francis Grade/High School.

As a junior, Ray led the team in scoring average at 11 points per game - while the team averaged 30 points per game. The Lions went 6-8 that year and Ray was named to the Cleveland Press All-Scholastic Team. 

On the baseball diamond, Ray led the team with a .375 batting average as an outfielder. After graduating, he played Class A ball and received a tryout from the Detriot Tigers.
