Robert Callahan was a regular on the football team. He was an outstanding fullback for three years, earning All-Catholic honors as a junior, as the team went 8-2-1. During his senior year, he was captain of the team which lost their opening game to John Adams, eventual Senate Champs, and went on to win their final seven games under coach Herb Eisele. As a senior, Callahan was the leading team scorer on the hockey team that went 7-2-1. The Lions finished second in their division of the newly formed Scholastic Hockey League. Robert was selected on All-Scholastic hockey second team. He was the fourth leading scorer in the league.
