Dave Haley was one of the most exciting players in the last decade of Cathedral Latin's existence. He played in the shadow of two Hall of Fame running backs his sophomore and junior year with an interception and 60-yard return for a touchdown against John Hay.
His senior year he caught two touchdown passes of 41 and 21 yards against St. Joseph. He also scored a touchdown on a 90-yard kickoff return (second longest in school history). Dave aslo had a fumble recovery. Against Padua, he set a new school record with a 96-yard touchdown run from the line of scrimmage. He also had an 81-yard pass reception for a touchdown (third longest in school history).Â
Haley was named "Back of the Week" for his performance against Padua. At Cardinal Mooney he caught four passes for 109 yards including a 60-yard touchdown. For his efforts, Dave was named All-Independent Second Team.
