Hall of Fame
Bob Lowrie enters the Latin Hall of Fame as an outstanding basketball player only one year after becoming eligible - a first for anyone entering the Hall of Fame. No other basketball player in Latin's history ever matched the accomplishments that Bob established during his two and a half years on the varsity and led the Lions to the State AA championship before 11,469 at St. John's Arena in Columbus over Columbus Milfin 69-65. The Lions ended the season with a 24-2 record which was the greatest number of wins ever combined in one season in Latin's history.
In addition to the State title, the Lions led by Bob Lowrie, won the Lions the Crown Conference, District, and Regional Championships. As co-captain of the senior team, Bob was chosen as the MVP eight times during the 1976-77 season. As a high scoring guard, Bob averaged 24.4 points per game for the Lions while being named AA Player of the Year by the state.
Bob continued his basketball career at Baldwin Wallace University.Â
