Frank was the starting tackle for the Latin Lions that won two Charity Games - 1943 and 1944. Frank was named to the Cleveland Press All-Scholastic Team in 1944 after the Lions went 10-0 and beat Massillon for the state title. In the two Charity Games, he played before 93,000 fans (combined) more than some athletes play for in a career! The 1944 Latin team scored 104 points in one game - a school record that was never topped.
He continued his studies at the University of Notre Dame. Frank remains grateful to fellow Hall of Famer (Coach) Herb Eisele, who instilled in Frank a disciplined work ethic that carried with him into his role as Cuyahoga County Treasurer. He utilized "twoadays" to make use of the abundance in student workers at the County offices - something Eisele pioneered.
